The "Ending the HIV Epidemic with PrEP in 2021" quiz will enhance medical knowledge about and increase prescribing of pre-exposure prophylaxis to prevent HIV as part of the Practice Transformation project of the Southeast AETC. This 18 question quiz will provide up to 3.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. This quiz is aimed at providers that are currently prescribing PrEP in primary care or other locations not specializing in infectious disease, initially at sites involved in the Southeast AETC Practice Transformation project.
At the end of this QuizTime learning activity, the learner will be able to:
Describe the efficacy of pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) for preventing HIV
Identify risk factors for HIV acquisition and persons who may benefit from PrEP
Recommend and interpret appropriate diagnostic testing prior to initiating and during monitoring of PrEP
Recommend appropriate vaccinations for infectious disease prevention pertinent to sexual health
Select appropriate medications for PrEP in the context of clinical scenarios
